As our team saw in both betas, 3 players constantly throwing gravity wells into the center of capture points is enough to hold the enemy back. Even then, most tanks still wouldn’t walk into it. Since it makes it nearly impossible to move onto the capture point without dying unless you’re a tank. It is the most popular ability within wars. Gravity well is the reason why our team pay any attention to the Mauler Ability Tree in the first place. Great Axe Tanks with experience can melt enemies attempting to hold the point while avoiding death. Whirlwind is arguably one of the most effective abilities for zoning enemies off control points. The area of effect for pulling enemies in is insignificant and will be difficult to land in PVP. We recommend that you avoid the Maelstrom ability entirely unless you’re a tank in an expedition or solo farming in the open world. The primary focus of the Mauler Ability Tree is AOE damage which also keeps enemies nearby. Great Axe Charge Ability Mauler Ability Tree Although it requires a significant investment within the Strength Attribute points.

The focus of the actives within this tree is damage output and gap closing abilities. The Reaper Ability Tree is the bread and butter of PVP players within the open world. The Great Axe provides the best mobility out of the melee weapons while dealing immense amounts of damage. We will primarily focus on the PVP aspects within the Open Environment and Wars. Whether you’re the hunter or prey, you will rather embrace the Great Axe or live in fear of it. Despite the nerf the Great Axe received going into the Open-Beta, its popularity only rose.

It is hands down a robust weapon that synergizes well with the other Strength Attribute-based weapons. The beauty of the weapon is that it is adaptable to most PVP playstyles and still has utility within PVE. The Great Axe is currently the favourite weapon for sweaty PVPers and a critical part of most wars.
